Hollywood veteran Elliott Gould lends his distinct voice to this gentle and emotional film which chronicles the journeys of Jamaican migrant workers, the plight of New York apple farmers, and the bonds that have formed between these men as they struggle to maintain their existence in an emerging and fiercely competitive global economy.
I just wanted to reach out to those of you who have either supported this film or expressed interest since we premiered the film in Rhode Island this last August to let you know that Seasons In The Valley won the Best Feature Doc award at the 6th annual Queens Film Festival.
The premiere version has been cut from 87 to 84 minutes and we have been receiving overwhelming positive response from our audiences all intrigued by it’s symphonic look at the migrant immigration story, the inherent racism and the humanity in a battered agricultural region .
Press and reviews are beginning to come in including this wonderful new quote from Mel Allen Editor of Yankee Magazine. "I was profoundly moved by “Seasons in the Valley” and your dedication to a subject that so few know about. I loved the passionate photography you brought to the simple, little scene of ritual of bee pollination, and the faces and quiet dignity of the Jamaicans. I loved being there with them. You really wrote a novel with film, that would make Steinbeck proud."
The film will screen later this month as part of the NJ State Film Festival and is also slated to screen at several art houses including the Jacob Burns Film Center in Westchester NY
